Privacy Policy — Playsla
Effective date: 25 May 2026 · Last updated: 25 May 2026
Who we are
Playsla is an Android application that allows a paired smartphone to stream its
Android Auto screen to the in-car browser of a Tesla vehicle over the local Wi-Fi
hotspot. The application is published by the developer of top.playsla.app
(hereinafter "we", "us", "the developer").
What data we collect
We do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information about you
on our servers. Playsla is designed to run locally on your device and your car,
without sending user content to third-party servers.
Data stored on your device
The following information is stored only on your phone, in the application's
private storage area, and is never transmitted to us:
- Application settings (display resolution, zoom level, theme, driver position, auto-start preference).
- A cached copy of the TLS certificate used to encrypt the connection between the phone and the Tesla browser.
- Standard Android log messages, useful for debugging if you choose to share them with us.
This data is removed when you uninstall the application.
Network requests we make
- Certificate refresh: Once in a while the application downloads a refreshed TLS certificate from
app.playsla.top. This request includes your device's IP address, which is
briefly recorded in our server log (Caddy reverse proxy access log) and automatically
discarded within 7 days. We do not associate this IP with any user identity.
- Subscription verification: The application asks Google Play Billing whether
you have an active Playsla subscription. This check happens on your device via Google's
official Play Billing Library; we do not see your Google account, payment details, or
purchase history.
Bluetooth and accessibility
- The application uses Bluetooth to detect when a paired Tesla vehicle becomes available,
so it can start the Android Auto pipeline automatically. The Bluetooth name and MAC
address it sees are processed locally and not transmitted off the device.
- If you enable the optional Accessibility service, the application translates touch
coordinates received from the Tesla browser into taps and swipes on the phone screen.
These touch events are processed in real time and never stored.
Third-party services
Playsla integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Google Play Billing — handles subscription purchases and renewals.
See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Android Auto (Google Gearhead) — the application uses the Android Auto wireless
protocol provided by your device's operating system.
See Android Auto Privacy.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- request access to any personal data we hold about you (we do not hold any);
- request deletion of any personal data we hold about you (we do not hold any);
- object to processing or withdraw consent at any time;
- lodge a complaint with the State Data Protection Inspectorate (Lithuania).
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address below.
Children's privacy
Playsla is intended for users aged 18 and older (drivers). We do not knowingly collect
information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this privacy policy, we will publish the new version at this URL and update
the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted in a release note of
the application.
